Why It Helps

Each Supportive Little Buddy represents a coping skill

Black Leopard → Ground

Moon Jellyfish → Breathe

Sea Turtle → Be Present

Fox → Rethink

Weighted sensory design and guided prompts help children and adults practice these skills together in real-life moments when the body reacts before words can help.

Each buddy was originally hand-drawn by our founder during a hospital stay in 2021, each buddy reflects lived experience, thoughtful design, and a deep understanding of how overwhelming moments can feel.
Did You Know

Everything you need to know before you choose a buddy.

What are the How-To Cards?

The How-To Cards are practical guides that explain the skills and strengths represented by each Supportive Little Buddy.

They are designed to help caregivers, educators, and healthcare professionals use the buddy’s animal-inspired coping strengths in real-time moments. The cards provide simple prompts and clear language that make it easier to guide regulation during stressful situations.

How do the How-To Cards support coping?

Each card connects the buddy’s animal-inspired strength to a practical skill that can be used in everyday situations.

Instead of vague directions like “calm down,” the cards offer clear prompts that guide grounding, breathing, curiosity, and pause.

Who are the How-To Cards designed for?

The cards are designed to support the adults guiding the moment, including:

• Parents and caregivers

• Educators and school support teams

• Therapists and healthcare professionals

They help create consistent language and guidance across home, school, and clinical environments.

Can I personalize my buddy's experience?

Yes. Each Supportive Little Buddy includes a name tag that allows for personalization, helping build familiarity and connection.

In medical or school settings, the buddy can also help model upcoming steps. Caregivers and professionals often use the buddy to explain what will happen next, offering a simple and reassuring way to prepare for new experiences.

What design elements can I expect in each buddy?

Every Supportive Little Buddy is intentionally designed to support regulation in real-world environments. Each buddy includes:

• Gentle, balanced weight designed to provide steady grounding pressure

• Sensory-considered textures suitable for diverse needs

• Metal- and magnet-free construction for compatibility in clinical environments

• Durable plush construction designed for everyday use

• A subtle stitched detail that glows in the dark, offering a small grounding focal point during nighttime or low-light moments

Each buddy also reflects animal-inspired coping strengths informed by psychology and nervous system research, encouraging skill development during real-life moments.

Designed by our founder — a mother of a neurodivergent child — the buddies were created with both neurotypical and neurodiverse needs in mind.

Do I need the cards to use the buddies?

No. The buddies can absolutely be used on their own.

The How-To Cards simply provide structured guidance and language that can help caregivers or professionals introduce regulation skills, especially when those strategies are new.

Can the cards be used in schools or clinical settings?

Yes. The How-To Cards are appropriate for classrooms, therapy offices, clinics, and hospital environments.

They are designed to complement existing regulation practices rather than replace them.

Are the coping strategies evidence-informed?

Yes. The prompts are informed by psychology and nervous system regulation research and translated into clear, accessible language that can be applied in real-life situations.

What our customers say

Don't just take our word for it

The My Buddy weighted stuffy has been such a meaningful addition for children who stuggle with anxiety, trauma and emotional regulation. The soft, comforting design instantly feels approachable and safe, while the gentle weight provides a steady, grounding presense. We have the Black Leopard, Moon Jellyfish, Fox, and Sea Turtle at our establishment. We find that our younger patients instinctively gravitate towards them. We love them and so do the kiddos!

Love the foundation of the company! Has helped my family go through our medical trauma by helping us understand the difficult emotions in which we had to overcome during our hospital stay. Will be coming back, and sending other family's that we had met during out stay here!
