as a business.
It started in a hospital.
In 2021, our family faced a medical emergency with our child. Overnight, everything changed. We became a medical family — and we needed tools that didn't exist yet.

We used what we had. A teddy bear from childhood. Simple techniques. Repetition. Breathing. Staying present. Getting through one moment at a time.
Not perfectly. Just enough.
But not every room lets a teddy bear in. And not every family has the tools or the language to use one well.
That's what was missing.
We started noticing it everywhere. Other families in the same hospital. Kids in classrooms. Adults in waiting rooms. All of them reaching for something — and not quite finding it.
The tools that existed weren't built for real environments. They weren't designed for real moments of stress. And most people had never been taught how to regulate what they feel.
So we built what we needed.
A weighted companion with a coping skill built right in. Safe for hospitals, clinics, classrooms, and home. Something any parent, nurse, or teacher could pick up and use — without training, without a manual, and without needing to have the right words ready.
Because when someone feels supported, even just a little — everything changes.

The name comes from the feeling of something missing — even when you can't explain what it is. A gap where support should be but isn't.

Why a wave
The wave is what stress feels like. Everything coming at you at once — waves colliding, building, hard to move through.
With the right support, those moments begin to settle. You find your way through. The calm is on the other side.
